ABOUT US

The Japan America Society of Nevada (JASN) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to enhancing the relationship between the people of Japan and the people of Nevada.

Our Mission Statement

We want to enhance the understanding of Japan, its people, culture, politics and economics in Nevada. That’s why we are advancing awareness of Nevada in Japan and within the Japanese community abroad. By doing this, we’re creating meaningful interaction between Nevadans and Japanese. Finally, we aim to educate Nevadans on important issues that impact the U.S. – Japan relationship and seek to provide support for expatriate Japanese residing in Nevada.

ONE.

Providing a place of friendship where members can build relationships amongst each other and build awareness of what each member does both personally and professionally

TWO.

Be a resource for all members for commu-nity outreach programs. Educate members on cultural and economics of Japan and important issues that impact US-Japan relations.

THREE.

Work with other community resources to raise awareness of what each organization does so that we can bring together a cohe-sive community that works together to bring education, cultural events, and pro-fessional interaction to the community.

FOUR.

Build relationships with Japan so that Las Vegas becomes a destination of partner-ship in helping each other foster aware-ness, education, to share cultural informa-tion and improve and/or develop leader-ship traits for a long lasting relationship between Japan and Las Vegas.

Sustainability

With the disaster that struck Japan in March 2011, JASN emerged as the community leader in raising funds for relief efforts. In cooperation with the office of the Honorary Consul General of Japan in Nevada, as well as the Consul General of Japan in San Francisco, and working together with Japanese and non-Japanese residents of Las Vegas, JASN raised more than $65,000 for earthquake/tsunami relief.

Annual Friendship Golf Tournament

The Annual Friendship Golf Tournament is our signature event where we are able to attract local businesses in the community for a fun outing and networking.
